WowOWow.com is a Drupal social community site for successful women. I helped work on it for two weeks before it launched. It was designed and mostly built when I started. My primary responsibilities included finding and squashing bugs, coordinating development with two remote developers and training the editorial staff and answering questions.

The E-String site is a simple Drupal application using the Sky theme. It also uses CCK, ImageField, ImageCache and Views to create the individual portfolio pages and list of portfolio pages. The Amazon module is used to provide a link to books we review.

Like City Guide, Local Explorer lets you do geographic search and exploration. It also contains entertainment type resources (restaurants, bars, movie theaters) but shows the results plotted on a map and contains crime information as well as municipal resources and additional information. It was implemented in Java, JSP and JavaScript.

The News Search application was also built using the Fast Search server to provide fast, full text, faceted search. Today an application like this could be built economically using Apache Solr. It was implemented in Java, JSP and JavaScript.

The City Guide search application let you search the D. C. area for various entertainment resources based on proximity and let you browse the results through the search 'facets'. For example you could search for restaurants near an address and then drill down by cuisine, rating, etc. This was implemented using the Fast Search engine. It was implemented in Java, JSP and JavaScript.

While at Washingtonpost.com I worked on the Jobs application. The system managed jobs classified ads, client resume applications and up sell features such as featured employer and featured ad. It was implemented in Java, JSP and JavaScript.
