Speaking at 360iDev Sep 11-14, 2010 in Denver on Networking and Web Services with iOS

I'm excited that my talk proposal Networking and Web Services with iOS was accepted for 360iDev Sep 11-14, 2010 in Denver, CO.

Mobile networked devices (phones, tablets, etc) are quickly becoming the main way we receive information in an increasingly interconnected world. This goes beyond RSS readers and Twitter clients. Everyday there are new traditional website style data sources such as our local, state and federal government data as well as an explosion of networked devices, appliances, power meters, buildings, cars, etc, presenting us with incredible opportunities to help our users collect, manage and make sense of this data.

In this talk we will explore basic networking concepts such as asynchronous network connections, HTTP and REST and learn about the built in frameworks and libraries. We'll also introduce popular third party other tools, libraries and techniques that you will find useful. I also hope to touch on new networking technologies and approaches such as Node.js, Websockets, SPDY, etc. and discuss options for an Objective-C developer.

I'm excited about the talk and conference and hope to see you there.
